🇳🇵❤️ This weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday (5+6 September), to raise money for the Nepal Flood Relief after the devastating news there recently, Julie Rose Stadium will be hosting a paid walk.

Each walk will cost £5 to sign up for and the funds will go towards food and essential supplies for families who are currently without very little.

The first walk is between 8:30am-3:30pm on Saturday, while the second is between 8am-2pm on the Sunday.

There's no need to sign up, all you have to do is pop down either at, or between, those times.

It goes without saying that everyone at Ashford Borough Council wishes the very best for those affected in Nepal and hopes that community led activities like this brings people together in difficult circumstances.

🚲 The first post summer Cycling UK Big Bike Revival adult supported bike ride is taking place this weekend at Victoria Park Ashford! These will be taking place every weekend in September.

Depending on attendees, the ride lasts between 1-2 hours and is designed for adults and accompanied teenagers to get on their bikes and get moving!

Have your say on our new Local Plan 🗣️

We are preparing a new Local Plan for the borough and we are inviting local communities to get involved in the process.

What’s a Local Plan?

A Local Plan provides the opportunity to shape the place that we live, work and socialise. It addresses housing and employment needs and provides a series of planning policies covering many other topics such as community facilities and infrastructure, the natural and historic environment, adapting to climate change and achieving well designed places.

The council is holding a scoping consultation to find out how residents, businesses and other stakeholders want to be engaged in the local plan process and what the Local Plan should include. The consultation runs until Wednesday 23 September.

♻️ The next SUEZ UK Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Collection date in Ashford is this weekend!

Held over 5 and 6 September between 9am-5pm at St Teresa’s Church Hall (TN24 8TX), residents can safely recycle their unwanted electrical items and keep them out of landfill at the same time.

This includes computers, mobile phones, processors, DVD players and other unwanted electrical equipment!
