We are looking for a Friendship Co-ordinator to join our Charitable Services team and help make a positive difference to the lives of older people across Northumberland.

To support the provision of short-term, structured befriending support for older people across Northumberland, to support individuals to achieve defined personal goals, improve their confidence and independently access activities and groups in their local community.

If you’re passionate about supporting others and creating meaningful change, we’d love to hear from you.

Our Blyth Friendship Group enjoyed an unforgettable day at Newcastle Racecourse last week! 🏇

Delivered in partnership with Racing Together, the visit gave our members the chance to cheer on the races, meet jockey Jason Hart, learn about the history of the racecourse, and even have a little flutter of their own.

The event was one of six being delivered through the charity’s pilot programme aimed at tackling loneliness and bringing people together through conversations and shared experiences.

A huge thank you to the Racing Together team for making it all possible, and to Newcastle Racecourse for their warm welcome and hospitality. It was truly a day to remember. ❤️

Thank you also to Great British Racing for putting together such a wonderful video - a brilliant souvenir of a wonderful day. 🤩

Supported by Sport England, these fun and friendly classes are designed for people aged 50+ and focus on building muscle strength, improving mobility, and boosting balance. 🌟

• Hirst Welfare Centre – Wednesdays at 12:00pm
• Stakeford and Bomarsund Welfare – Thursdays at 10:30am

Whether you're new to exercise or looking for a gentle way to keep moving, everyone is welcome. We'd love to see you there! 😊
