🌟 We’re delighted to see our brand-new Enabling Connections project featured on BBC News!

Enabling Connections is a volunteer-led programme supporting people who may have become socially isolated following life changes such as bereavement, a stay in hospital, or loved ones moving away.

Our wonderful volunteers will provide friendly, face-to-face support on a weekly basis for up to six months - helping people identify what matters to them, build confidence, take manageable steps towards their goals and reconnect with their local community. 💙

Hold your horses… it’s race day for our Ashington Friendship Group! 🐎🏇

In partnership with Racing Together and Newcastle Racecourse, our members enjoyed a great day out, cheering on the horses, discovering more about the history of the racecourse, and even having a little flutter along the way!

The visit forms part of a programme focused on tackling loneliness and helping people build connections through conversation, friendship and shared experiences.

A huge thank you to the fantastic Racing Together team for making the day possible, and to Newcastle Racecourse for their warm welcome and wonderful hospitality.

What a galloping good day! ❤️

As a Friendship Volunteer, you'll provide short-term, structured support to help older people regain confidence, reconnect with their community, and enjoy greater independence.
