What a lovely afternoon Deputy Mayor Councillor Sandra Smith and I had at Rubys Yard CIC on Sunday 12th July 2026. I was honoured to cut the ribbon and officially launch the PaddleAbility Club. This club will help create more opportunities for disabled children, young people and adults to be active, build confidence, enjoy the canal environment and be part of a welcoming community. Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers and everyone who worked so hard to provide these inclusive opportunities close to home, especially Rubys Yard CIC, Sport England, Hinckley and Rugby Building Society,Paddle UK, Hazel Smith and all of the Volunteer Instructors, Parents, Steering Group Members and local Supporters.

Thank you to my “Mayors helpers”on Saturday at Stutefest where I held a stall for my charities Jessie’s Journey, Tam Webster Veteran Centre and the Atherstone Veteran Centre. Boy did you all support ! Special mention to the amazing Kirstein Saxton and Moonpig Over £850 was taken for these worthy causes and EVERY penny will be donated !

Stutefest 2026 Saturday 11th July and what an amazing event. Thanks must go the The Stute Committee and Volunteers for organising this event. Thank you to North Warwickshire Borough Council for providing the amazing green space and to all of their staff in support. Thank you to contributors and sponsors including Dordon Parish Council and Dordon Borough Councillors who supported with funding. It was amazingly well organised and enjoyed by local people and families. What’s more … well England football team won their match ! ( photo courtesy of The Stute)

I was kindly invited to St John’s Birchmoor for the presentation of awards for the 2nd Polesworth Company Girls Brigade. The girls had worked hard through the year and their efforts were celebrated with their families. Congratulations to everyone involved.
