Fathers Day - 21st June

In support of the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance the ‘Back to our Roots’ vintage car event is not to be missed.

Stalls and refreshments available throughout the event and an eclectic mix of vintage cars and motorbikes will be on show at which to brows and wonder. Also, a live band will play to set the scene and add to the vintage vibe of this wonderful family day out. Gardens will open from 11:30 to 16:00 at an entry cost of £10 Adults, children under 16 free.

✨ A truly wonderful weekend at the Aubourn Hall✨

We're still smiling after our beautiful Kintsugi course last weekend. It was an absolute joy to welcome such lovely people to the estate for a creative and peaceful workshop.

With Bridgerton-style string music playing softly in the background, the atmosphere was very relaxed. 🎻🌸

A massive thank you to the brilliant .jane.gilding. Her expertise and warmth made learning the traditional art of Kintsugi a fantastic experience, and the pieces created were simply stunning.

The day was made complete with an indulgent afternoon tea, the perfect accompaniment to a day of crafting and conversation. 🫖🍰

🌼 Mid-May Update from the Aubourn Hall Garden Team 🌿

Can you believe we find ourselves more than halfway through May already?! It has been an interesting few months; the climate seems utterly confused at times, and we have to admit… we feel the same! Our Head Gardener - Tamsin and her team have navigated bright sunshine and high temperatures, followed by hailstones the size of marbles, sunburnt shoulders, and even a morning frost. However, the gardens are accepting all of these challenges and looking just as beautiful as ever.

Tamsin and the team have been delighted to see the garden thriving despite the erratic weather. Our tulip show was truly wonderful this year, and the beautiful David Austin rose, 'Phyllis Bide', which frames our holiday cottage entrance, is already in bloom with hundreds of buds waiting patiently to open. The alliums, irises, and geraniums are looking strong and vibrant. The Actinidia kolomikta (variegated kiwi vine) is currently stunning with her pink-tipped, heart-shaped leaves, and the peonies are about to burst into flower at any moment. The buds are enormous this year, and we are so excited to see them "sing."

In the greenhouse and polytunnel, things are moving along beautifully. All of the annual bedding plants we sowed have germinated successfully and are growing so strongly that they are already hardening off outside, with plans to start planting out this week. The dahlia polytunnel currently looks like a jungle! They grew so huge and started to bud weeks ago, that Tamsin gave them a "haircut" to encourage even more buds and a stronger plant. They’ve reacted very well to the trim which means they’ll be planted out and looking their best in readiness for our NGS Open Day on June 7th. Why not join us and come and meet them? 🌼 We welcome group bookings and offer guided tours with our Head Gardener throughout the year. Tours include our beautiful Golden garden, Rose garden, Iris and Peony beds, Pairie garden, a Stumpery and a 13 ring grass labyrinth.

If you'd like to book a tour for a minimum of 15 people, prices start from £15 per person and include a pot of English Breakfast tea or freshly brewed coffee with homemade cakes.
