Update from Sherrilyn A Bateman

Out on a Ward Walk in the sunshine, with the new Local Area Technician. LAT.

What an enjoyable meeting, sharing my love and passion for Aylesbury with an interested person.

Representing residents views first.

Richard Lloyd - Walton - Aylesbury SE and Tim Dixon and Roger King I covered all the concerns raised to me and those already on FixMyStreet.

Focus on Aylesbury Central and Focus on Aylesbury South East areas covered today.

Thank you to residents for their ongoing support and keep using FixMyStreet it's the correct way to register your observations in Bucks to Buckinghamshire Council.

You could not make this up.... well this is the truth.

After campaigning for clearer signage for the Amber Way with local activist Dan Meakin, since May 2025, BC/contractors put this post in the ground on private property last week.

The property owners rightly complained.

It's now been placed into the pavement.... but the waste has been thrown onto the private property and the signs still point the wrong way.

Come on Buckinghamshire Council hold the contractors to account.

Thank you to Dan for today's update.

We reported a loose set in the summer of 2024.

Rather than resetting it.... it was removed. And we got this black stuff.

After an on site meeting with BC in May 2025 it was discussed and the missing set was to be found....

Plus the heritage wobbly pavements on Temple Sq and Church Street to be reset and the black stuff on Church Street replaced with stone.

One broken arm later.... nothing has been done by BC. We keep chasing.

We must insist our heritage paving in Old Town Aylesbury is retained and restored.

We have been reporting to Bucks Council the blocked drains outside Coop and Specsavers on Aylesbury High Street since August 2025.

After numerous visits to the shop managers, solicitors holding BC to account and Sherrilyn A Bateman emails to BC and meetings, the work has finally been done.

A result .... as you can now enter the shops without getting wet feet......

The reason for the delay. No new drain grids available. Looks like new ones of the wrong size were ordered and a lot of bodging with concrete and the brickettes have gone, but as it's been pointed out to Sherrilyn by BC, she's no expert.

PS. Do you like her new shoes....? She likes to offset the concrete with a little glamour and sparkle ✨️

Some work has progressed in The Exchange.

The babies have been cleaned and the hole in the floor filled.

The lighting is still too be worked on.... that's been 3 years.

Small steps forward. It's only taken a year to wash the babies.

Bluebells in the town centre today. Perfect.
