A great evening training with the crews from BFRS Chesham Fire Station and having TVP Aylesbury Vale Cadets with us as well

Last night Aylesbury On-Call welcomed the Police cadets from TVP Aylesbury Vale to give them an insight to what we do. They were given a tour round the fire engine, able to spray water, a little competition in hose running, fire safety advice and a little confined space exercise through the tunnels. We hope you had a great night and see you all again soon.

Crews last night practiced ladder drills and the made a dam using different bits of equipment off the fire engine. This was used to lift water from our light portable pump to supply water to our lay flat hose. We can’t always get our fire engine close to every incident so we have to improvise using different techniques.

On Monday our On-Call unit trained with the Wholetime watch at Aylesbury in a Breathing Apparatus (BA) drill in town. Crews were obscured to practice their skills in searching for casualties and progressing safely around the building.
