💷 Money Saving Monday – School Uniform Savings & Support 🎒

With the summer holidays approaching, many families are already thinking about the cost of school uniforms for the new term. Planning ahead can help spread the cost and make the most of any available savings.

Several major retailers are expected to launch their annual school uniform promotions during June and July, including discounts and low-cost uniform bundles. While these dates are currently predicted and may change, it's worth keeping an eye on offers from supermarkets and high street stores over the coming weeks.

👕 Need extra support with school uniform costs?

In addition to possible School Clothing Grants that we shared information about last week, The South Ayrshire School Clothing Bank provides free school uniforms, shoes and essential school items to children and young people across South Ayrshire. Their service helps ensure every child has what they need to feel confident, comfortable and ready to learn.

The Clothing Bank works closely with schools and partner organisations to support families who may be experiencing financial pressures.

🌟 Feelgood Friday 🌟

Team spirit is hugely important within South Ayrshire Information and Advice Team, so this month we have introduced a step challenge. It’s been great to see everyone encouraging one another, sharing progress, and getting involved.

Supporting staff wellbeing is a key focus for us, and this challenge has been a brilliant example of how working together can make a real difference.

We would like to congratulate Emma for being this week’s winner of the highest steps achieved. Your determination and positivity has been amazing—and you’ve kept us all motivated along the way!

Applications are now open for 26/27 Free School Meals and School Clothing Grants.

In addition, if your child is old enough to start primary one you may be eligible for a Best Start Grant - School Age Payment. Further information can be found here: https://www.mygov.scot/best-start-grant-best-start-foods

Online applications for free school meals and clothing grants are now open!

The Scottish Government have committed to providing a free school meal to all P1 to P5 pupils. We recommend that all parents/carers who meet the eligibility criteria submit an application, as this information will be used to pay free school meal payments during school holiday periods.

🌟 Feel Good Friday 🌟

We're delighted to announce that Nicola has been appointed as the new Supervisor for South Ayrshire Information and Advice Team!

Since joining us in July 2024, Nicola has made an incredible impact across the service. She has been instrumental in establishing our Community and Education Team and has played a key role in delivering budgeting lessons to secondary school pupils throughout South Ayrshire.

Nicola has also worked tirelessly with some of our most vulnerable clients, supporting them through complex and challenging situations with professionalism, compassion, and dedication. Her commitment to helping others and strengthening our service has made her an invaluable member of the team.

Please join us in congratulating Nicola on this well-deserved appointment. We are excited to see her continue to thrive in her new role and help lead our team.
