Congratulations to Watch Commander James McHattie on completing 30 years service. James was presented a certificate for long service and good conduct by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Chief Officer Stuart Stevens and Board Member Angiolina Foster.
James joined Dalmellington retained in April 1994 and also works as a wholetime firefighter at Ayr.

Ladder drills for the trainees at Dalmellington Fire Station this week .FF Gormanley demonstrating how to take a leg lock on the 13.5 meter ladder.
The drill tower has also had maintenance work carried out. Fully pressure washed inside and out . New anti slip window sills, and all metalwork painted.

Congratulations to trainee firefighter McMurdo, who successfully passed his red phase assessments on Saturday the 30th of August.

The crew from Dalmellington community fire station were patrolling the Loch Doon area due to the increasing number of rural fires.
Firefighters engaged with campers around the Loch to give advice, reassurance and guidance on the importance of fire safety protocols at this time as well as the devastation wildfires can cause. This initiative will also allow us to provide availability within the community at an important and challenging time.

Meet the newest member of personnel at Dalmellington Community Fire Station.

Firefighter Jamie Stewart who successfully completed is initial 2 week training course in November at Kilwinning.

Like all our firefighters in the team we are incredibly grateful for thier unwavering commitment to the community, ready to respond at a moments notice. 🚒

You will recognise Jamie from Stewart’s Fruit and Veg a small local business within the Dalmellington community supporting SFRS On-Call duty system 🤝

Congratulations to Firefighter Mullen who starts his training on Monday 20th for his post as a wholetime Firefighter on Green watch Ayr .
Thomas will also continue to support his local community as part of the retained crew at Dalmellington .
