Something very exciting is starting tonight 🌟
**** How incredibly disappointing to see negative comments on this post. They’ve been deleted and so will any other. We have been working so hard as a collective (yes including SAC) to improve our street over the last couple of years and our hard work is now paying off. Every business on this street has invested not only on the street but to Ayr’s wider economy, creating jobs and supporting countless other businesses. That should be celebrated. We’re here. We’re trying. Maybe it’s time we were all a bit more positive about our town and worked together to breathe fresh life into it 🩵

Our little street will never be the same again. Our hearts will forever be broken.
Helen was the most wonderfully positive, funny, caring, kind human. She had time for everyone and everyone felt so seen by her.
She leaves behind an enormous hole no one else could fill but we will think of you with a smile and remember your radiance 🩵

Our love and thoughts go out to her family and everyone who loved her and those are many.

📣 SHOUT OUT 📣

On behalf of the Newmarket Street Business Group, we want to say a huge thank you to Angela for everything she’s done over the past 14 months.

She’s been a true driving force for the street — a visionary, a voice, and a real support to so many of us along the way.

With backing from South Ayrshire Council, we secured funding for a co-ordinator role to help bring the business community together and get things moving — and what a difference it’s made.

There are still projects in the pipeline (including improved lighting and the shopfront improvement scheme), but as these things take time, Angela and the NMST Business Group will continue to keep momentum going on a voluntary basis.

And of course, Angela is the owner of the beautiful Folia right here on Newmarket Street — so she’s very much part of the fabric of what makes this place so special.
