Badsey PC has a number of allotment plots available for immediate occupation at Pear Tree Fields, Willersey Road Badsey. In the first instance these are being offered to parish residents before the PC extends the offer to the wider community. Reason: Utility Work by Gas Transportation Co Ltd

Alternative route: B4035 Badsey Rd, A46 Evesham Bypass, A44 Broadway Rd, A44 Pitchers Hill, A44 Broadway Bypass, B4632 Leamington Rd into Gloucestershire, B4035 Weston Rd, B4035 New St, B4035 Main St and vice versa.

Anticipated duration: 8 days (24hrs)

Please take care when using Knowle Hill, as a large fallen tree branch is restricting the road. It remains passable thanks to the efforts of councilors Devine and Bailey. County Highways has been notified and will ensure the issue is fully resolved and the road is safe.

The Parish Council received reports on Saturday 15th August about the very poor state of the area around the play space at the Badsey Community & Sports Club. The site was left with vomit, dog mess, rubbish, bottles and cans — completely unacceptable in a space meant for children.

We’re asking all users to respect the area and keep it clean and safe so children can enjoy it without risk. Our community spaces deserve better, and we expect everyone to play their part.

Looks like our Aldington planter has been “re‑arranged” by someone with light fingers instead of green ones.

We’ll be restocking it soon — and hopefully the next person who stops by will be adding plants, not taking them.

Please keep in mind the ease with which fires can be started in the present conditions, there are fires around the area. Please take extra care to avoid starting more. Everyone keep safe. Check on those for whom the present extreme heat is a serious danger and keep them safe.

Unitary Authority Announcement

📢The Government has today confirmed plans for the future of local councils in Worcestershire.

From 1 April 2028, the county’s current seven borough, city, district and county councils will be replaced with two unitary councils: one covering North Worcestershire and one covering South Worcestershire.

The decision follows Government consultation and consideration of the two proposals submitted for reorganisation in Worcestershire.

In a joint statement, the seven leaders of Worcestershire’s councils said: “The debate is now over and we have a clear direction from the Government. Today, we come together to express our commitment to work collectively to make these new arrangements a success for residents, businesses and communities across the county.

“The decision also provides important clarity for staff across our councils, allowing us to fully focus on planning and delivering an effective transition without any negative impact on the services residents currently receive.

“Throughout this process, there have been strongly held and sincerely expressed views about the future structure of local government in Worcestershire. We recognise councils and residents have approached this debate from different perspectives.

“Now, moving forward, our shared priority will be ensuring every part of Worcestershire is properly represented and local voices continue to shape the decisions which must be made by April 2028.

“Above all, we are united in our determination to deliver high-quality, financially sustainable, transformed services that meet the needs of our communities both now and in the future.

Residents and / or others are asked to stop depositing personal rubbish in the school skip.

Unacceptable waste has already been dumped, and this will result in significant additional charges for the school.

The skip is for school use ONLY.

Please respect this and help us avoid unnecessary costs.

🚨 Safety Notice – Recreation Ground Play Area, Sands Lane

A wasps’ nest has been found near the balance beam in the children’s play area.

Please stay well clear of this section until it’s been fully dealt with.

Pest control specialists are scheduled to attend tomorrow, and the area will be made safe as soon as possible.
