After 6.30pm on 05.09.26 and before 9am on 06.09.26, a vehicle was scratched while parked on Gore Lane in Bradwell.

There may have been more, but we are unsure at this time, without further reports.

Over the last few days, officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team have continued their patrols in the Tideswell area but also carried out patrols in the rural communities too.

These patrols take place to provide community reassurance following the recent reports of Anti-Social Behaviour taking place in the area.

As your local Safer Neighbourhood Team, we wanted to update you that between 31st August 2026 and 7th September 2026, a burglary occurred at a property on Burton Close Drive, Bakewell. Jewellery and money have been taken.

In between patrols today, Officers from Safer Neighbourhood Team have held a Community Catch Up event at Aldi in Bakewell and also spent some time at the Bellroom in Hathersage plus dropped by the Village Show in Over Haddon which was being held in the Over Haddon Village Hall

Either by holding a Community Engagement event or spending some time at one in the community, it gives you an opportunity to speak with local officers about any crime prevention concerns they had, Signup to Derbyshire Alert and complete Derbyshire community voice survey.

We have been made aware of a scam where an elderly male has been contacted by somebody claiming to be ringing from the Metropolitan Police. They have told the caller that a fraudulent bank account has been opened in their name and a large sum of money deposited into the account. As a result of this the caller is the suspect for money laundering and they have bail conditions to call a number every day, twice a day. When they have called the number back the 'Metropolitan Police Officer' has requested further personal details including financial details and information re the callers daily activities.

Thankfully this has been reported to police before any financial loss, we have been able to reassure the male and assisted in protecting his finances and put measures in place to safeguard him going forwards.

REMEMBER
🔵 Never give out your personal information unless you are certain who you are speaking to and happy to do so. If this is not the case, take the callers full name and collar number and call them back via 101.

Following on from the reports of anti-social behaviour in the Tideswell area, we have carried out patrols throughout this afternoon and will return to do further patrols this evening and over the weekend.

We would encourage anyone who witnesses or experiences anti-social to report it when it is taking place in order that an officer can attend and identify those involved.

We are appealing for information after windows were broken at a property in Tideswell.

The damage occurred between Tuesday 25th and Friday 28th August at the institute located behind St John’s Baptist Church and next to Tideswell community Library in village.

It’s believed that fruit from the community orchard to the rear of the institute was used due to some fruit being seen stuck in the broken windowpane.

| Have you been affected by social media ads offering fake supermarket offers?

We're appealing for information following a rise in social media advertisements offering heavily discounted supermarket deliveries, electronics, and household goods.

Organised criminals have been advertising deals on social media, claiming to offer genuine discounts on major retail and grocery orders. People who transfer money to these sellers often find their orders never arrive.

If you have responded to one of these adverts, paid money, and either did not receive your items or had an order cancelled by the retailer, we want to hear from you. You are not in trouble; you are a vital witness in helping us dismantle these organised criminal groups.

The signs of a scam:

🔹 Social media profiles advertising 40% - 70% off grocery shopping, electricals, or high-street retail orders.
🔹 Requests to pay via private bank transfer, payment apps, or cryptocurrency rather than through an official retailer website.
🔹 Orders that were cancelled shortly after being placed or failed to arrive.

Over the weekend police have received reports of possible rogue traders in Stoney Middleton. The male attended the address of their elderly victim claiming that roof work was required and they needed to mend it immediately to prevent further damage. They took £500 from their victim and offered to take them to the bank to get more money. No work was carried out and no apparent damage to the roof. The rogue traders are believed to have targeted their vulnerable victim and have been very assertive in their demands, putting their foot in the door to stop their victim closing it on them.
