It’s the annual Bala Triathlon this Sunday morning and the main A494 road to Llanuwchllyn will be closed to traffic between 09:00 and 15:00.

Update: We had been working towards Dorothy hauling her first ever passenger train and her first train in around 100 years this weekend. Unfortunately, whilst out on test last night she failed and had to be towed back. The nature of the failure is being investigated but she is now unlikely to feature in this weekend’s timetable. She will be on display outside the sheds for anyone who wants to see her.

We are sorry to bring you this news and apologise for any disappointment.

We’ve just published the full timetable for our upcoming Bank Holiday Weekend Gala on our website, so you can start planning your visit and working out which trains you want to catch!

There’s also something rather special to look forward to… Bagnall saddle tank locomotive ‘Dorothy’ is due to emerge fresh from overhaul and, all being well, will be back in action for the gala!

We’re keeping our fingers crossed that she doesn’t suffer any post-overhaul teething problems and that she’ll be putting on a fantastic show for everyone over the weekend.

Rydym newydd gyhoeddi'r amserlen lawn ar gyfer ein Gala dros Benwythnos Gŵyl y Banc ar ein gwefan, felly gallwch ddechrau cynllunio eich ymweliad a phenderfynu pa drenau rydych chi am eu dal!

Mae rhywbeth arbennig iawn i edrych ymlaen ato hefyd... mae disgwyl i’r locomotif tanc cyfrwy Bagnall, ‘Dorothy’, ymddangos yn ffres ar ôl cael ei adnewyddu ac, os aiff popeth yn dda, bydd yn ôl ar waith ar gyfer y gala!
