🔥 Balfron Fire Station – Community Safety Message 🔥

With the warmer weather arriving, we’d like to remind everyone about the importance of keeping our community safe.

If you are planning any controlled burning, please make sure you contact our Control Room in advance. Letting us know ahead of time helps prevent unnecessary emergency callouts and ensures our appliances remain available for genuine incidents where they’re truly needed.

As conditions become warmer and drier, the risk of wildfires increases significantly. Even small fires can spread quickly, so please stay vigilant:
• Never leave fires unattended
• Avoid burning during dry or windy conditions
• Dispose of ci******es responsibly
• Keep water or a means of extinguishing nearby

Let’s all do our part to reduce risk and protect our community.

🚒 Appliance Changeover at Balfron Fire Station 🚒

Tonight our frontline appliance is away for a planned service to make sure it stays in the best possible condition for the community we’re proud to serve.

In the meantime, a replacement appliance is in place — fully equipped with a wide range of lifesaving equipment, including breathing apparatus, road traffic collision gear, medical equipment, water rescue kit and firefighting media. Everything we need to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies across our area.

Please be reassured that Balfron Fire Station remains available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our crew is on call and ready to respond whenever you need us.

🚒 Drill Night at Balfron Fire Station 🚒

Another great turnout at drill night this week, with crews putting in the work to keep essential skills sharp. The focus was on ladder pitching — a core skill that requires teamwork, communication, and precision.

These evenings are about more than just training. They’re about making sure that when the call comes in, we’re ready to respond quickly, safely, and effectively for the Balfron community and surrounding areas.

Every ladder raised and every drill practiced helps build confidence, strengthens the crew, and keeps us prepared for whatever comes our way.

We’re proud of the dedication shown by everyone who turned out . Your fire station is always training, always improving, and always ready. 👏

Balfron Fire Station is looking for dedicated people to join our team as On-Call Firefighters! 🚒

If you’re 18+, eligible to work in the UK, physically fit, and ready to make a real difference in your community — this could be the role for you. No previous experience needed — full training provided! You’ll be part of the crew responding to emergencies, delivering community safety, and protecting the people and places around you. 

What we’re looking for:
• Aged 18 or over
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Good physical fitness and able to meet medical & vision standards
• Able to respond to the station quickly when on call
• Enthusiastic and willing to work as part of a team
• Lives or works close to Balfron Fire Station
• If employed, permission from your employer to leave when required

Could you be Balfrons next On-Call Firefighter?

We currently recruiting Firefighters and are looking for people who..

✅Are over 18 ,reliable, have a strong work ethic, are able to stay calm in high pressure environments and can communicate and work well as part of a team.

✅Have a good level of fitness and is interested in developing and learning a variety of new skills.

✅Can offer daytime availability to respond to callouts during weekdays and weekends.

✅Can attend weekly Training Nights on a Tuesday evening.

Carrying a pager as an On-Call Firefighter is a commitment, but we'd say with confidence it is a worthwhile one, and easily one of the most rewarding things you could do.
