As you may be aware I have been campaigning against Dog fouling I am delighted that our enforcement officer had a Double success in the Harryville area .Two people were handed £200 fine each.Great work by our enforcement officer.
On the down side we had a bad case of dog fouling at the health centre on the Cushendall road .I am currently working with our enforcement officer and the estates manager on the Waveney grounds to take measures to counter.I am cruising some evenings in the grounds on the lookout for offenders

Congratulations to the inspirational Kevin Sinfield. There are great people out there and then there are legends.Sir Kevin Sinfield is a legend for his work to raise awareness and help fundraising on behalf of Motor Neurone Disease.I lost a good friend and Sports Bond member Derek McCully I watched over many years how Derek fought this terrible affliction with Bravery,Fortitude and Dignity.Today Lewis Moody sets out on a Cycle challenge for Motor Neurone Disease himself a sufferer as was another Rugby star Doodie Weir .I always support Kevin for his work and for the memory of Derek McCully as many will remember as a Senior manager in Gallahers .Please support these incredible people like Sir Kevin Sinfield. He is an absolute LEGEND

I want to totally condemn the destruction by fire of a car in Ballykeel last night. The desecration of property should never happen in a civilised society.A few years ago in Larne several cars and property were destroyed over a feud over a dog .Please don't let this happen in Ballymena. No more

Fantastic to see David Radcliffe receive an MBE in the King's birthday honours. He was acting principal at Gracehill primary school and all the Children and staff loved him and his television exploits recently.Good guys do win .A great honour for a fantastic teacher

I am so proud of this photo taken at the Braid yesterday. This is Rosaleen Orr who is the leader of the Stop the Build campaign .With her petite frame you would think Rosaleen would be as timid as a mouse.Yesterday the Mouse roared and what a performance.Rosaleen gave the most passionate speech in support of our campaign she outlined our objections on access , health and safety ,and destruction of the environment. She asked for a site meeting that was rejected how pathetic was that. She was so magnificent even I was a bit emotional.Over the last nine months sitting around Rosaleen's kitchen table there has been so much debate and energy.Clara you have been so supportive of your mum but how proud where you yesterday. The people who have been in this campaign have shown the true meaning of community. This was never just about us but our children and grandchildren..The reason I have delayed posting is quite simple I was gutted and just couldn't speak about it .To all who sat around that Kitchen table I am proud of you all friendships have been forged and this morning you can look yourself in the mirror and be proud.Others can lower their gaze in shame .As the last line in Gone with the wind said "Tomorrow is a new day" and we go on . Yesterday Rosaleen showed she was prepared to take on all the powerful interests of Council and Developers so proud of you Rosaleen

This was The Stop the build campaign at the Braid yesterday. We were there to present our objections to the Planning committee for the proposed development at Dunluce.Regretfully the proposal was passed which left us all devastated. So much time and work has gone into our campaign but we take comfort in that at all times we have had the moral high ground. There is a lot could be said about this decision but I will hold my counsel on this safe to say where is their conscience on protecting our environment. Thanks to Councillor Matthew Armstrong TUV and Breneanan Lynas Sinn Fein for coming along to give their support

The events of last night unfortunately takes me back to Ballymena a year ago .It is so sad to see violence return to our streets. As our party leader John Burrows said this morning " where is the patriotism in attacking a glider bus ".The violence is to be condemned and sadly social media has played a part in it .
