Tours are running today (Sunday) and Bank Holiday Monday at 11:30am – the perfect way to delve a little deeper into Bamburgh’s past.

Anglo-Saxon Reenactment Update (29th - 31st August)

Unfortunately, our planned Anglo-Saxon reenactment has been cancelled at Bamburgh Castle this Bank Holiday weekend.

The reenactment group have advised that, due to the forecast weather conditions, they will be unable to set up their outdoor encampment safely.

We’re sorry for any disappointment - Bamburgh Castle remains open as normal throughout the Bank Holiday weekend, with plenty more to see and do!

Good luck to the Sea-ñoritas! 🌊💙

This morning, Claire Watson-Armstrong, Jill Henderson and Karen Gallichan will be taking on their incredible Farne Island Swimming Challenge, setting off at 8.30am.

The trio will be swimming (accompanied by a safety boat) the Inner Sound between Inner Farne and the Northumberland mainland without wetsuits, all to raise vital funds for North Northumberland Hospice Care.

We’re wishing Claire, Jill and Karen the very best of luck for their swim – what an amazing challenge! We’ll all be cheering you on! 👏🌊
