📢 ARTICLE 19 CONSULTATION ON WEST OXFORDSHIRE LOCAL PLAN 2043

The final draft of the West Oxfordshire Local Plan 2043 has now been issued for public consultation, known technically as the Article 19 Consultation.

The purpose of this consultation is to assess whether the Plan is legally sound and compliant with planning law, and to identify any modifications that people believe may still be required.

📈 The Plan allows for modest economic growth in Bampton over the Plan period to 2043.

🗣️ Residents are still able to comment on any aspect of the final draft Plan.

⏰ Consultation closes on 9th October 2026.

🚧 Temporary Road Closure Notice – Fox Close, Bampton 🚧

Oxfordshire County Council has issued a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order for Fox Close, Bampton, Oxfordshire. 🛣️

📍 Location: Fox Close, Bampton

🔧 Reason: Road closure to allow microsurfacing works to be carried out by M Group Highways Limited on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council.

📅 Starts: Monday 28 September 2026 at 8:00am

✅ Expected completion: Thursday 1 October 2026 at 4:00pm

'Vanishing' Padel tennis balls

181 padel tennis balls have 'gone missing' since the courts opened in June. Some racquets and balls were supplied so that residents could try the sport easily and hopefully enjoy the game. 10 balls have gone from the supply in the last 48 hours.
The padel tennis balls were not intended as a free gift for users of the court to take home but for the benefit of all who book the court.
Unfortunately once the last remaining handful have gone if you book the court to play padel you will need to supply your own padel tennis balls.
If you have used the court and accidentally taken the padel balls home with you, we would love to have them back please.

🔨 Play Park Improvement Works Today 🔨

We're carrying out some essential safety and improvement works at Mercury Close Play Park today, including removing rotten structures and installing a replacement swing.

For everyone's safety, the play park will be closed today while the work is underway.

Bampton Parish Council has been informed by West Oxfordshire District Council of an outline planning application for the development of up to 190 new homes on land east of Station Road, Bampton.

The planning application reference is 26/01731/OUT, and the consultation period closes on Tuesday 25th August.

The Parish Council Planning Subcommittee will meet at the Old School Community Centre on Wednesday 19th August at 7.00 pm to discuss the application. Members of the public are welcome.
