It’s been a busy few weeks at Banchory Community Fire Station and last week we were absolutely delighted to hand out cheques from our fundraising efforts over the past year to local causes.

A big thank you to everyone who came down and all you do for the community we are proud to protect.

A huge thank you to Doug and Kyle from our local fire station for welcoming the Monday night Beavers tonight 🚒🔥

The Beavers had an absolutely brilliant time touring the station, exploring the fire engines, trying on equipment, asking approximately 4,000 questions, and learning all about the incredibly important work firefighters do in our community.

Highlights included:
🚨 pressing buttons
🚨 spraying the hose!
🚨 discovering just how heavy the gear is

Thank you both for giving up your time, being so patient and engaging, and helping teach the Beavers about fire safety and community service in such a fun way 🚒😂

We are still looking to recruit on call Firefighters at Banchory.

This is a paid part time role with benefits of managing your own availability, a pension, paid holidays and working within a great team to make a real difference to the community you live in.

The basic criteria for applying is:

* 18 years of age and over
* Eligible to work in the UK
* Live or Work within 8 minutes drive of the Fire Station in Banchory
* Have a reasonable level of fitness
* Pass a medical with all applications looked on a case by case basis

Good luck to one of our own Mick Rimmer who after 24 years returns to the Sahara to tackle the infamous ‘Marathon De Sables’ often regarded as the toughest foot race on earth!
