Great photo of a great guy. John Steele employed half the village at one time or another with Tattie howkin, carrot picking, Turkey plucking, Tattie riddling etc. here he is pictured with Bruno a chicken weighing in at almost 30lbs, the picture was taken at the official weigh in for the Guinness book of records.
John took pleasure in showing off the confirmation certificate he had grown the biggest cockrel in Britain.
