The PCSP, in partnership with Road Safe NI Charity, hosted their second Car Maintenance for Women event on Saturday 6th June.

We would like to extend a big thank you for Davy and Peter from Roadsafe NI for delivering such an informative and enjoyable session (with a few laughs along the way!) and to everyone who attended and made it a great success.

Keep an eye out on social media for the next event!

Putting on your seat belt only takes a few seconds. That's a few seconds that can save your life and any passengers in your vehicle.

Wearing a seat belt is a legal requirement - they’re in your vehicle for a reason.

Wear it and protect yourself while travelling.

â™» About Reuse & Repair Week

Organised by NIRN - Northern Ireland Resources Network and funded by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) via the Carrier Bag Levy, the week celebrates the positive impact of practical, local action.

From fixing a broken toaster and redistributing surplus food to upcycling and selling pre-loved furniture, communities are finding creative ways to extend the life of everyday items, reduce waste, and support a more sustainable future.

Reservoirs, rivers, disused quarries and other water bodies may look safe but they can be hazardous - spot and keep away from dangers.

If someone gets into difficulty:

👉 phone 999 for the emergency services - if you don’t have a phone, shout for help but do not go into the water
👉 encourage the person in the water to try and float on their back and if there is
rescue equipment nearby, throw it to them
👉never enter the water to try and save someone - you are likely to suffer from 'Cold Water Shock' which will leave you unable to help, even if you're a strong swimmer
