So, this is the farce that Barnsley could get if Reform gain power in next May's local elections - having already found at Kent County Council (which they now 'run') had no more cuts to make, infighting within the Reform Group there has led to the expulsion of 5 of their councillors. I suspect this has a lot to do with not having any policies to back up knowing what they're against

Several members of the Reform-run council were expelled over a leaked video of an online meeting.

A good Action Day today, door-knocking at the Claycliffe Ave and Dayhouse Way estates, Redbrook, seeking voters' views and issues Of course, the 'MU1' ('Barnsley West') mega-development came up, as did immigration and roads safety. Lots of positive discussions held and calling cards left. Bring on the May local elections!

💰 Last year Labour's turnover was over £90m and the Tories' was over £50m, while ours was £5m.

📈 We must close this gap quickly if we are to replace Labour for good and take the fight to Reform.

Whilst out delivering Darton West ward newsletters today, I stopped at Claycliffe Avenue/ junction with Barugh Green Rd and looked up across the huge MU1 development site. All that farmland, which had been Green Belt, is going to go - all the way up to Higham. Way, way too big a development - all we Greens can now too is try to get some of the planning applications tweaked to make them more sympathetic. The big decision was at the time of the adoption of the Local Plan in 2019.

This is the roundabout at the junction of Claycliffe Rd, Barugh Ln and Dearne Hall Ln - I struggled to get across the little pedestrian island on the other side without getting run over. And I'm quite fit! The whole of the A road along Claycliffe Rd and Barnsley Rd into Darton needs a safety reassessment by BMBC Highways and a pelican crossing or two putting in. We'll be pressing for this.

Delivering leaflets on the Oaklands Estate (Birds of Prey estate), Wilthorpe yesterday - good to see that Persimmon Homes have finally, finally completed all the tarmacing of pavements and roads. How long has this taken? 8 years maybe? Thanks in no small part to Green Party candidate for Darton West ward Lee Long's campaigning of 2 years ago. This is Eagle Ave now
