If your holiday accommodation is providing a cot for your baby, it’s important to check it thoroughly before use. It should have:
✔️ Firm, flat, waterproof mattress
✔️ No damage
✔️ Rigid, firm cot base
✔️ Well-fitting mattress (no gaps)
If cot bumpers are provided, remove these as they can cause accidents.

Did you know Barnsley Maternity Services are moving to a new electronic system, to record care provided.

We are moving to BadgerNet Maternity – an electronic system aimed at giving Maternity Service users more control of their pregnancy records and care notes.

When will the change take place?
On the 4th June 2024 the whole Maternity service will move across to the new system.

What is BadgerNet Maternity Notes?
Badger Notes is an online portal and app that allows you to access your maternity records over the internet through your PC, tablet device or mobile phone.

The information you view is generated in real-time from the hospital-based maternity system, using details entered by your midwife or other health professionals involved in your care.

Paper notes will still be provided for those who are unable to access their notes via the app. The Maternity service is committed to making the most of digital services to enhance care, but also to ensuring that it remains inclusive and available to all.

We will provide more updates over the coming days 🤩

The getUBetter app includes:
• Pelvic floor and general exercise videos
• Information, guidance and advice
• Top tips for managing symptoms of pelvic health problems
• Regular surveys to monitor symptoms and progress, signposting to services where needed
• Links to local support services such as physiotherapy, smoking cessation and domestic abuse services, among others.
The getUBetter app is:
• FREE to download and access via the local QR code attached
• *Please do not download from the app store as this version won’t include information about South Yorkshire services*
• Co-produced with input from service users, midwives, physiotherapists, obstetric and gynaecology consultants from across South Yorkshire
• Has videos available in 8 other languages in addition to English AND ‘touch to speak’ functionality in some areas of the app
• Available to anyone in South Yorkshire with or without an existing pelvic health condition - not just pregnant women.
