We need your help!

There are currently 4 vacancies for co-opted governors for our school governing board.

We need time and expertise from anyone with a background or experience in business and finance, HR or education.

Could you spare some time for a meeting or two each term to support and challenge in a strategic role at Lacewood?

Please call in to reception for more information and an application form, if you feel you can support us.

Thank you in advance.

Kindest Regards,
Kelly Webster
(Chair of Governors)

Please check your emails some parents have finally received their shopping voucher email - you will need to log on to redeem for a e-voucher. This voucher is for last week, I have ordered more vouchers for this week. Thank you

I know parents have not yet received the email from Edenred with the shopping vouchers. The company have received a large number of orders and are struggling with the demand. All schools are having the same issue. The government advised schools to sign up with this company and so thousands of schools have done so. School can not do anything about the delay we will have to hope this situation is resolved asap. Thank you.

The free school meals shopping vouchers have been emailed this morning, please check your emails. The vouchers are for £15 per week per child. Please stay safe everyone.

Free School Meals. If you have had to claim for Universal Credits because of the coronavirus you will need to claim for free school meals for your child. This can be completed online at BMBC free school meals. The council will check the eligibility with HMRC and will then notify the school. The school have ordered shopping vouchers and these will be posted out to parents if their child are entitled, we are still waiting for these to be delivered. Please remember your child will only be eligible if you claim Universal Credits or Income Support.

To parents of Beech Class and Cedar Class - I have rang the relevant companies to discuss refunds. The companies have to wait until the government announce that all school trips in this country must be cancelled to be able to access the insurance - once this happens the companies will refund schools accordingly and we will refund schools. Hope this information helps.

To all our parents who work at Capita - MP John Healey has written to the CEO at Capita regarding the key worker list and the company's working conditions, as employees have said the company is not following the government instructions. There is also information on there relating to self isolating and sick notes. This is a must read for anyone working there so you know your rights, which the government have set out. If your manager is pressuring you maybe print the letter off and share.

I am unable to copy the link here but if you go on MP John Healey's facebook it is on there.

Thank you and stay safe.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

Please read this carefully as we have been contacted by some parents who have been told, by their employer, that their job role is on the key worker list. Just to clarify, and we have checked this, - call centre workers only apply to 3 industries this is a Telecommunication Provider (ie BT), Chemical Industries or Civil Nuclear.

Also the government are urging all parents to keep their children home, as this is the safest place. Only if all other care options have been explored, school is ABSOLUTELY the last resort.

Please be aware of some scams out there. Lacewood Primary will not be asking for your bank details, so if you receive an email asking for this please delete it. Thank you and stay safe.
