Holocaust Memorial Day Competition
Barnsley NEU Association is again supporting Holocaust Memorial Day in January 2024 by organising an art, poetry or writing competition for school children:
Either: Design and produce a piece of artwork that illustrates the theme “Ordinary people can make a difference”
Or: Write a poem on this theme or any piece of writing such as a letter, postcard etc.
There will be one winner and two runners up for Primary and Secondary schools who will each win either an art box or a poetry book (to fit with their choice of entry).
Prizes will be presented by the Mayor at the HMD event 6pm Friday 26th January in the council chamber Barnsley town hall.

Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) on 27 January is the day to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under N**i Persecution and in the genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur. Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMDT) is the charity which promotes and supports HMD in the UK.

Free Return to Work workshop for NEU members
Return to work with confidence with The MTPT Project and the NEU

NEU members preparing to return to work following a period of maternity, adoption or shared parental leave can enjoy a free place on The MTPT Project's December Return to Work workshop. In this 90 minute virtual workshop, we'll take you through your legal entitlements as returning parents, and the best practice you can expect, or request from your school. You'll have the time and headspace to clarify your boundaries, and get yourself logistically and emotionally prepared for your return.
