s. Visit the Millennium Garden and wander the romantic Woodland Gardens by the river where beautiful shrubs and flowers grow in abundance. For the more adventurous, take the steep path up to the castle behind the house and admire the panoramic views of Exmoor, Dartmoor and Lundy Island. The Sword in the Stone brings to a close this year’s wonderful run of outdoor theatre, in collaboration with The Plough Arts.

Congratulations to for a wonderful show, and to the audience for their enthusiastic participation.

We love hearing people say how special the gardens at Castle Hill feel, a place to relax, wander, and enjoy the outdoors at your own pace, or even have a sing-song!

Summer Resilience at Castle Hill Gardens…

Even in this tough drought, the gardens are still putting on a beautiful show. The agapanthus are standing tall and brave, and the hydrangeas are blooming on in full colour, a reminder of just how resilient our gardens can be.

Wander the lawns, stroll the woodland paths, and enjoy these pockets of summer beauty while they last. And when you’re ready for a break, the Tea Room is open Monday to Friday, 11am–4pm with cakes, drinks and light lunches.
