“To little fanfare, the Labour government has been getting through rather a lot of business, and much of it is the sort of stuff his incessant critics on the left should love. Under Sir Keir, Labour is renationalising Britain’s railways. It has put vat on private schools. It has raised the national minimum wage, one of the highest in the world. Join the march for unity this coming Saturday, 11th October at 11am.

If we stand together and confidently assert our belief that everybody in our society is values and has a place regardless of their ethnicity, sexuality orientation, gender identity, ability or religion, we will beat the forces of hate and division.

The march, organised by Stand Up To Racism, was originally planned for last week but was rescheduled due to poor weather.

BREAKING: MAGA world melts down as Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde calls Donald Trump out directly to his face during a sermon at the National Cathedral — urging him to find compassion and mercy.

This is the last thing Trump expected today...

"I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared. There are gay, le***an, transgender children, Democratic, Republican, independent families — some who fear for their lives," the reverend said as Trump sat in the pews.

She said that millions of Americans "put their trust in you."

"The people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meatpacking plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals — they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals," she added.

Destroying Republicans lies about migrants, she said that those workers "pay taxes" and are "faithful members" of American churches, mosques, synagogues, and mosques.

Appealing to empathy that Trump lacks, she said that the children of those migrants "fear their parents are going to be taken away."

"Find compassion," she added, urging him to help vulnerable people fleeing from war zones and persecution — a tall ask for a man as demonstrably anti-refugee as Trump.

With the election of Donald Trump in the US and the right wing drift at home, in Europe and further afield the coming month and, possible, years will be challenging. Progressives need to evaluate the political dynamic that have brought us to this sorry state and plan our fighback now.
