“To little fanfare, the Labour government has been getting through rather a lot of business, and much of it is the sort of stuff his incessant critics on the left should love. Under Sir Keir, Labour is renationalising Britain’s railways. It has put vat on private schools. It has raised the national minimum wage, one of the highest in the world. It has beefed up renters’ rights. It is removing the two-child benefit cap, which will lift many children out of poverty. And it is introducing a swathe of increased workers’ rights in the Employment Rights Act, which cleared Parliament in December.”
