Coming soon… A Home for Nature 🌿

Join us from Saturday 20 June for a brand-new exhibition celebrating the remarkable life of Rosalie Chichester (Arlington Court's last resident), her creative spirit, love of nature and her lasting impact on the estate.

📸Wander the gardens and ground on an outdoor photography trail, where Rosalie’s own images are placed back into the landscape that inspired them.

🏠 Step inside the house to discover her vast photography and personal collection, some of it on display for the first time and uncover Arlington’s past, present and future as a place where nature thrives.

Normal admission applies, free for NT members. A special thank you to CEWE for their support in bringing this exhibition to life.

It’s incredible to see the front lawn bursting into life with wildflowers, thanks to the oversowing in 2022 and careful management since.

The lawn is currently buzzing with bees and other insects, making the most of it 🐝

Have you seen the orchids? So far, our team has identified greater butterfly orchid, southern marsh orchid and heath spotted orchid - but they are easy to miss as you walk by 🌸

These beautiful blooms are Himalayan poppies…and they are a little bit fussy💙

They love it cool and damp (but not too wet), enjoy a bit of gentle morning sun (but don’t let them get too hot) and prefer sheltered spots away from strong winds.

But when they flower, the colour makes them truly unforgettable 🌸

Huge thanks to Fresh Start for helping get things ready for summer 🌿

They’ve been busy clearing and preparing our field ahead of Summer of Play - we can’t wait to see it filled with games and activities for everyone to enjoy from July.

They’ve also cut our overflow car park, just in time for the Devon Day Craft Festival starting this Friday 🎉
