We have some of the best farmers in the country in North Devon, and they must be supported.

If the government is serious about food security and mitigating food price rises, they must invest in food production here in Britain.

Following the Devon County Show, North Devon MP Ian Roome and the Liberal Democrats are calling for a £1 billion increase to the UK farming budget.

Writing in his latest column, the MP states that global unrest and rising fertiliser costs are threatening local food security, and argues that current agricultural policy needs urgent reform to support British family farms.

Great to see Ian Roome MP at the paddle out event over at Croyde this weekend.

It's beyond belief that our beaches are being treated like sewers. Glad to see our local community come together to campaign for an end to sewage pollution!

110 repairs in 25 days!

So far this financial year, Devon County Council Highways have made 110 repairs in Chulmleigh & Landkey Division. Across all of Devon, they've made 3188 repairs - which averages out at 55 per division.

We've had double the repairs than average! That's all down to residents reporting defects.

This highlights the importance of reporting potholes. If we report them, they get fixed.

👏 We need to cut fuel prices and bring down the cost of living. Glad to see the Liberal Democrats in Parliament pushing the government on this!

Trump's war in Iran has triggered the biggest rise in fuel prices in over three years, pushing inflation up too...what can only be called Trumpflation.

And in a large rural area like North Devon, that hits especially hard. Many people have no choice but to drive, around 14,000 households are off the gas grid, and farmers and rural businesses are also being hit by rising red diesel, LPG and other off-grid fuel costs.

We Liberal Democrats are calling for the government to cut fuel duty by 12p and cap bus fares at £1 to tackle Trumpflation.
