🚒 MAJOR ANNUAL INVESTMENT SECURED FOR BARROW AND THE SOUTH LAKES.

We’re delighted that £1.5 million of Government funding every year has been secured to strengthen fire and rescue capability in Barrow.

This significant long-term investment follows months of work by Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, alongside Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner David Allen and Barrow and Furness MP Michelle Scrogham, to make the operational case for additional funding as Barrow’s role at the heart of the UK’s defence industry continues to grow.

This funding will strengthen operational resilience, enhance firefighter safety and ensure the Service has the capability needed to meet the demands of one of the UK’s most strategically important communities.

Why not come along to our Recruitment Open night this Tuesday (21/07/26) 6pm-7:30pm and see what it's all about!
This is your chance to:
• Meet our firefighters and ask questions.

📣 We’re looking for adults to become Volunteer Fire Cadet Instructors working with firefighters to run our cadets units.

We're especially keen to find volunteers who can support our existing unit in Workington and our new units in Barrow and Whitehaven.

⏰ Commitment to three hours voluntary work per week
👥 Experience in youth work desirable (but not essential!)
