Help shape the future of your waste and recycling collections.

We’ve launched the next stage of our consultation on future waste and recycling services in Westmorland and Furness.

Some 3,000 people took part in our initial Community Conversation engagement in November and December and that feedback has shaped a range of options we’re now consulting on.

We now want to know your thoughts on options such as:
✔ Sizes of containers
✔ Wheelie bins
✔ How often your waste and recycling would be collected
✔ Green waste charges.

Labour Councillors continue to challenge Westmorland and Furness Council over the state of Barrow's streets

As a local Labour councillor I have zero influence in what happens nationally and I generally tend to focus on the needs of people and how I can help.

This month I have been reading stories and posts from individuals expressing their fears and concerns about Welfare Reform rumours and announcements, and how many of our most vulnerable residents may be thrust into poverty and feel like a burden to their families.

I am disgusted that 250,000 people in the UK will go into poverty, but not entirely surprised.

We can protest about these changes, and make MPs listen.
