I will be strongly opposing this project. I will call it into committee so anyone who wants to speak against can have their say.

I understand that planning has been submitted to the Vale Council for 4 dwellings Cwm Talwg, the exact location is the car park behind the Plas Cleddau shops. They believe the car park is unused and the homes are going to be used for affordable housing, I would also like to say that this will effect All Saints school, the community centre, local businesses as there will be no parking. Safety will be as issue as cars will be parking on Plas Caddau road and Severn avenue, cars will then park in the pub car park and this will effect the pub as people coming to eat will have nowhere to park. I would like everyone to go onto the vale website and planning and voice your concerns to stop this project going ahead.

PUPILS BRINGING WEAPONS TO SCHOOL IN LABOUR-RUN WALES

Responding to the news that teachers in Wales face pupil behaviour crisis and guidance issued by the Welsh Government that carrying a weapon no longer applies as a reportable reason for exclusion, Tom Giffard MS, Shadow Education Minister, said:

“This is a damning indictment of the Labour Government’s inability to properly support staff and pupils.

“Teachers as well as pupils must feel safe in an educational setting, the Labour Government need to take immediate action to tackle violence in our schools.


“Labour’s record in Wales on education is a stark warning for the rest of the UK on what a Labour Government will look like in Westminster.”

In the summer of 2022 we held a route options consultation on a walking/cycling route between Barry and Dinas Powys. The recommendation from that consultation was to design a route in the field alongside Cardiff Road. This has involved over 12 months of flood modelling, as well as ecological surveys and we are now in a position to present the route.



A public consultation on the proposed active travel route between Barry and Dinas Powys is going to be launched on Friday 17th May and run until Sunday 16th June 2024.



There will be an in person event at Lee Hall, Dinas Powys Parish Hall on Tuesday 21st May between 1500-1900.



The plans will be available for the public to see on the day and we’ll have a representative from Arcadis there with me and Kyle.
