A great achievement.

Congratulations to Flight Sergeant Anna Dunk who along with ex-CWO Rowan Dally and ex-Sergeant Harry Allan have just become the youngest team to row the Atlantic and raised money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
So, so proud of them and what they have achieved.

An enjoyable evening learning the reason behind the design of military transport aircraft and then participating in a exercise to design an aircraft of their own using some of the features spoken about in the lecture.

2243 run an AR blue shoot this morning. One cadet completed as a refresher preparing for Bronze and we had 4 new Blue shot achievements. Well done all 👏🏻

A busy weekend for some of our cadets.
1 cadet attended London and South East region band training. (hopefully in preparation for Lord Mayors Show).
8 of our cadets attended the inter squadron cross country with one coming 2nd (senior boys) and another coming 10th, (senior boys) both will qualify to represent Essex Wing at region cross country event.
Our senior boys came 3rd overall.
Well done all.

Welcome to Essex Wing Air Cadets’s new Commanding Officer, Wing Commander Jones!

Wg Cmdr Jones had this to say about his time with our organisation.

“I started my RAF Air Cadet journey when I joined 106 (Orsett Hundred) Squadron as a cadet in 2007. In 2014 I finished my cadet career and become a Civilian Instructor. In July 2015 I was Commissioned as an officer at 106 (Orsett Hundred) Squadron.
In 2017 I was appointed as Officer Commanding 1474 (Wickford) Squadron, where I remained until I was appointed as a WSO in 2020. In 2021 I was appointed as East Sector Commander, then in 2022 I was appointed as Deputy Officer Commanding Essex Wing.

I am honoured and excited to undertake my new appointment as Officer Commanding Essex Wing, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth and success of Essex Wing’s dedicate team of staff and cadets.”
