We can’t wait to welcome back the brilliant James Lawrence AKA Man About Country to Langdon this August!

James is a storyteller, adventurer and naturalist. For over 5 years he’s led walks around some of Britain’s most fascinating places, guiding people to discover the country like never before.

James is fresh off the Essex Ways: a 400km walking adventure around his home county to discover its best places, people and stories. He set out to bust the negative media stereotypes and prove that Essex is one of the most fascinating counties in England.

Now James is teaming up with Essex Wildlife Trust to lead a brand-new story walk around Langdon Nature Discovery Park. On this walk, you’ll venture deep into this beautiful corner of Essex, rich in wildlife and with varied habitats to explore. You’ll also hear some of the stories from the local area, including magic wells, fearsome dragons, and the pioneering Plotlanders of the original Essex dream.

What an amazing day!

We’ve had a brilliant Bank Holiday with our market!

Thank you to the incredible stallholders, and our wonderful team and volunteers, as well as all our visitors who came along to support us 💚

All the money spent today in our centre went towards supporting wildlife, and all the money spent with our stallholders has supported small businesses!

We were lucky enough to have music from two local groups 🎶

Our fabulous Education Officer, Karen, and her team of volunteers were kept busy with their fantastic pond-dipping activity, finding all sorts of wildlife in the pond 🌿

We love putting on these events and hope everyone who attended today had as much fun as we did 🦡
