Crossways Car Park – Removal of free parking from the 1st July

As detailed on Page 7 of April’s Hook Focus and on the news page of our website, the free 30-minute parking at Crossways Manor Car Park (by the Doctors) will cease as of 1st July as the funding from the Sainsburys development will run out.

The car park is owned by Hart District Council, who invited the Parish to consider onward funding for free parking. However, at an estimated cost of £19,200 per annum (3.5% increase to precept) and with no contribution offered from Hart, Councillors agreed this was not reasonable expenditure on an asset that isn’t owned or controlled by the Parish Council.

For more detailed information regarding this decision, please go to our news post https://hook.gov.uk/news/crossways-car-park-free-parking-to-end-with-effect-from-1st-july-2026

Due to the Hook Junior School Sports Day, please be aware that there will be limited spaces in the Community Centre car park on Monday. This is to allow users of the Community Centre to park to attend their activities.

We ask all parents attending Sports Day to walk where possible or park at Crossways Car Park (chargeable) by the doctors and avoid parking in residential roads.
