Join us at 10am this Saturday 20 June for our Saturday story and craft.

We will be reading Dinosaur Roar by Henrietta Stickland and Paul Stickland. After why not stay and join in with a very cute craft and make your very own Dinosaur!

Please note there is a small charge of £1 per person for the craft. parents/guardians are politely asked to stay for the duration of the activity.

Our Author of the Month for June is - Len Deighton

Len Deighton was a prolific British author, best known for his gritty and realistic Cold War Spy stories. Deighton redefined the genre in the 1960s and introduced us to a new kind of spy: working-class, cynical and very tough... and brilliantly portrayed by Michael Caine when the books became films. Being a spy suddenly became very cool indeed!

Temporary closure of Basingstoke Discovery Centre for building works - Monday 22 June to Friday 10 July. Reopening on Saturday 11 July.

The library is temporarily closing to safely complete improvement works. This work will bring services together in a more accessible way at Basingstoke Discovery Centre, helping us improve facilities and better support our community.

During this time, a ‘pop-up library’ will be offered on the ground floor to collect reservations, return items and access a selection of children’s books. This will be open: 9:30am - 5pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

No overdue fees will be incurred during this time. Our online services are still available.

Chineham Library’s opening hours will be temporarily extended to 9:30am - 5pm, Monday – Saturday.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
