RJ Care on BBC Radio Northampton!

Yesterday, our Owner and Registered Manager, Ruth Godden, joined BBC Radio Northampton to talk about something at the heart of what we do at RJ Care - truly personalised care for the Deaf community.

Ruth spoke about the importance of recognising that accessible care is about far more than finding someone who can "sign a little".

BSL is a complete language. Deaf culture matters. Communication matters. Choice matters.

For care to truly be person-centred, assessments and support need to consider the individual's language, culture, communication needs and lived experience from the very beginning.

Specialist Deaf care provision is vital in ensuring Deaf people have genuine choice, control and equal access to the support they need.

We’re excited to announce that enrolment is now open for our BSL Level 1 and BSL Level 2 online courses, starting this September!

Whether you’re completely new to BSL or ready to build on your existing skills, we have a course for you.

Staff vs Clients... Who Won?

Yesterday we headed to the bowling alley for another fantastic day out, and this time we made it a little more competitive... Staff vs Clients! 💪🎳

As you can probably tell from the photos... the clients were the clear winners! 🏆👏 They certainly showed the staff how it was done!

It was a brilliant afternoon filled with laughter, friendly competition, encouragement and plenty of unforgettable moments. From strikes to near misses, everyone got involved, supported one another and had a fantastic time.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. We already can't wait for the next challenge... although we think the staff might need a bit more practice before asking for a rematch! 😂🎳
