Here’s some wedding dress inspiration from 1900!

On the lower ground floor of the beautiful Assembly Rooms, Bath is the Fashion Museum Bath. They’ve headed into their virtual stores to hunt out this stunning silk wedding dress by Mrs O’Donovan of New York from 1900.

The dress bodice is decorated with sculptural pleats at the shoulder and a high collar and cuffs of point de gaze needle lace. The corsage is made of wax orange blossom and what looks like lace from a handkerchief, perhaps providing the ‘something borrowed’ for good luck.
