AMAZING LITTER PICK TURN OUT! 🎉

Beaconsfield's Community Litter Picks has its best turn out to date with over 20 bags of litter and weeds collected by 20+ volunteers.

The Mayor of Beaconsfield thanked everyone for joining him on Saturday 22nd August 2026 and for their contributions towards Beaconsfield winning Bucks Best Kept Village Competition 2026 (Michaelis Cup). 🏆

The volunteers split off into small groups:
🌱Some collected the dead weeds (sprayed by Bucks Council) around the New Town, up to Maxwell Road.
😲Another team headed to Bowl Barrow Way, collecting 10 bags of litter by the roadside - the Mayor noted there was 'enough car parts found to build a whole new vehicle'
🗑The third group walked up Penn/Station Road towards Old Town, collecting rubbish left on the pavements.
🚸The forth group, a whole family of volunteers, headed down to Wattleton Road and litter picked near the schools.

The teams met back up at the Town Hall just before 4pm for some well deserved tea and cake 👏

The Mayor of Beaconsfield, Cllr Alex Dunlop, wished to pass on a huge thank you to everyone who joined him on Saturday. He stated that the turn out and hard work of the volunteers is truly representative of the fantastic community spirit of the residents of Beaconsfield. 💚

Want to join us for the next Community Litter Pick? The final litter pick of 2026 is on Saturday 17th October, meeting at 2pm at the Town Hall.

Our Grounds Team have replaced the playground-friendly bark under the zipline at Malthouse Square Park.

They may have also claimed they 'tested' the zipline 'for safety check reasons.' 😂
