IMPAKT Housing & Support (formally YMCA Bedfordshire) is a small independent housing association that provided a variety of supported accommodation for ages 16- 64. Alongside our portfolio of housing, we also impact our communities through other areas of social needs from working with schools to support young people or creating food larders that reduce food waste through to helping men and women flee domestic abuse. If you want to know more about these services please visit our website or if you're interested in finding out how we can help IMPAKT your community email us at [email protected]

Previously known as YMCA Bedford and Housing4.

This is what support from a local business can look like🌟

Bedford, give us the ability to safely and securely store our furniture donations, toys and everything in between. This means we can say yes to more, and keep it all safe until it’s needed to give back to our community.

Thank you for choosing us as your charity partner. We are extremely greatful for your support 🙌

If your business needs storage, we can’t recommend Cinch enough. They’re building even more in Bedford right now!

A home is where everything else starts.

Supported housing gives people a safe place to live and the support to build from there, settling in, finding their feet, learning new skills and working towards a future that feels like their own.

It also does a huge amount behind the scenes, easing pressure on stretched health and care services and helping to break the cycle of homelessness. But that only happens when it’s properly funded.

At IMPAKT, our housing teams walk alongside residents every step of the way, at their pace and on their terms. We see every day what’s possible when people are given stability and someone in their corner.

This , we’re asking, please support the services that help people move forward 💛

A big thank you to the team at the Lidl Luton depot 🙌

Their donations help stock the shelves at the IMPAKT Food larder with fresh produce and everyday staples, so local people can count on good, nutritious food when they need it most.

This , we’re celebrating the people who help make sure good food reaches our community. Thank you, Lidl Luton!

This year’s Raft Race brought our community together for a brilliant day on the river, raising an amazing £15,579.63 for local charities and good causes.

We’re so grateful to have received £6,000 of that, raised through the Raft Race and Fujifilm UK, and it was a joy to accept the cheque at a lovely morning with the Rotary Club.

This donation will make a real difference to the people we support across Bedfordshire, from supported housing to our domestic abuse services and IMPAKT Food.

A special thank you to Doug Wady and everyone who paddled, donated, volunteered or cheered from the riverbank. This is what community looks like! 🙌

How is it that time of year again?

Today our London Marathon 2027 runners, Katie & Sarah joined us to talk all things MARATHON.

They’re running the London Marathon 2027 for IMPAKT, and we finally got to show them what we do in the community, hand over their runner packs and of course get some social content.

Swipe to meet them 👉

We can’t wait to share their journeys with you over the coming months, stay tuned for their fundraising links...

Homelessness is not the end of someone’s story.

Daisy has been living at our Foyer. Now she’s heading to university 🎓

This World Homelessness Day, we’re handing over to her.

Every person who walks through our doors brings a different story. Some are young people finding their feet for the first time. Some are rebuilding after something has fallen apart. Some need a few months, others need longer.

There’s no single route into homelessness, and there’s no single route out of it.

What we can offer is a safe home, people in your corner, and the time to work out what comes next. For Daisy, that’s university. For someone else, it might be their first job, their own tenancy, or simply feeling settled again. Every one of those steps matters.

Thank you for sharing your story, Daisy. We’re so proud of you, and we can’t wait to see what you do next 💛

Not the post we wanted to share💔

We’ve had to make the tough decision to cancel our Tacos & Trivia event that was taking place on Friday 16th October.

We’ll be honest, ticket sales weren’t where they needed to be, and we’re gutted. A lot of time and love went into this one, and we were so looking forward to a night of tacos, trivia and good company with you all.

Everything we raise goes back into supporting people across Bedford and beyond, so when an event doesn’t come together, it stings. But we’d always rather be upfront with you.

To everyone who booked, thank you so much. We’ve emailed you directly, and refunds will be processed within 3–5 working days.

And to everyone who shared, tagged a friend or got excited with us, thank you too. It really does mean a lot.

This isn’t the end of our events. We’ve got plenty more in the pipeline, and we’re really looking forward to what’s ahead.

We hope to see you at the next one!
