It was an emotional day on Wednesday at the Welcoming Space as we said goodbye to Busy, our lovely volunteer. She is heading off to university next week to continue her journey, and while we will miss her tremendously, we could not be prouder! 🎓✨

Good luck, Busi! Thank you for all the warmth, dedication, and kindness you brought to our community. 😍

Here is what she had to say about her time volunteering with us:
This charity has taught me a lot about community through different ethnicities uniting together at the Welcoming Space. The many activities offered have shown me the importance of having fun with others while teaching each other valuable skills such as sewing, painting and learning how to manage home devices. It is an exciting place that welcomes all and I have greatly enjoyed my experience so far!

✨What a fabulous way to wrap up our summer! Our session was packed with amazing activities, and we are so grateful to everyone who joined us. 🎨✨

A huge thank you to Emma from for delivering such fantastic arts and crafts workshops, the creativity was off the charts! Be sure to check out her page to see where she will be heading next.

We also want to give a massive shoutout to our local Co-op for their generous food donations throughout the summer, making sure no one went home hungry after our sessions. 🧺❤️

Last but certainly not least, a huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers! We could not do any of this without your hard work, energy, and dedication week after week.

🇺🇦 On Sunday 23rd August, our team had the privilege of joining the community at Bedford’s Harpur Square for the Ukrainian flag raising ceremony organised by PBIC. 🇺🇦

As an organisation committed to community engagement and supporting local families, we were honoured to stand alongside residents, local dignitaries, and children from Ukrainian families who attend our local schools.

The atmosphere in the square was filled with hope and solidarity. Attendants came together clad in blue and yellow fleurettes, with many wearing traditional dress. Standing together under a clear blue sky, the event provided a poignant moment of unity away from the ongoing conflict.

Following the outdoor ceremony, attendees gathered in the Harpur Suite to view displays reflecting Ukrainian history and culture, accompanied by moving violin performances. The event served as a powerful reminder of the resilience of the community and the importance of fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment for all.

🐻 TEDDY BEAR PICNIC! 🐻🌸🧸✨

From beautiful flowers 🌷 to cute teddies 🧸, dancing, pretending to be our favourite animals 🐒🦁, practising our best bear poses 🐻 and joining in with the much-loved “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” story… there was so much fun, laughter and imagination!

And of course, we finished off our adventure with a lovely picnic 🧺🍎 — the perfect way to end such a special session!

A huge thank you to Emma from Let’s Get Going CIC for coming along and delivering such fun and engaging activities for everyone. 💕 Your energy and creativity made the day extra special!

So many smiles, happy memories and lots of little bears! 🐻❤️
