So, I decided to experiment with our dear little oven here in the Orchard Tearoom, and make a small batch of scones. Fresh out of the oven, Raisin and Lemon, look better in real life than in the photo. Is anyone up for trying one? £3 each with butter.

Good morning, just a reminder that the Orchard Tearoom will be open as usual today, 10.00 - 3.30, but we'll only be doing drinks, cakes, scones, ice creams etc, as the kitchen is closed today. Looking forward to seeing you!

Good morning all, it's me again, wittering on about coffee and, more importantly, cake. This coming Sunday, 16 August, the tearoom will be open as usual, but we will only be selling drinks, cakes, scones and teacakes. Apologies, but we don't have a cook available to run the kitchen that day. Sue

WANTED!! Reward offered for the apprehension of this felon...oh, sorry, wrong post. This is Cara. I told her I was doing a Meet the Crew post, but I think I got confused with a Wanted poster. There's a chance she'll never talk to me again after this, but I won't tell her if you don't? We'll both be there in the tearoom tomorrow, 10 - 3.30. Disappointed today. I bought a dear little kid's kitchen for the tearoom last Sunday - my own money, please note. Yesterday the tap was broken off, it must have taken a bit of force to do. So, why couldn't the parent have just let us know and apologised? Nada. I've got some really fun looking vehicles to be played with, but am now reluctant to put them out. As I said, disappointed. Look at this dear little kitchen - new to the tearoom with lots of things to play with. Rhema and Cara are working today, so please would someone pop in and make sure they're working in the tearoom kitchen, and not just playing with this?! Good morning peeps, I'm off to a school sports day this morning, but just thought I'd share a photo of the lovely new cakes we've got. These are blueberry muffins and carrot cake traybake, and Cara and I can confirm that they are absolutely delicious. If you've got an hour or two spare, please come along over the next few days and see what else is on the cake counter - I do believe lemon drizzle could be there today too. The Orchard Tearoom is open Wednesdays to Sundays inclusive, from 10.00 until 15.30. Lots of people ask, so now all I have to do is work out a way to pin that information where it's easily accessible. Wish me luck, I may never return from the depths of the internet. I've just noticed a post from someone who was asking for a cafe with WiFi they could work in during the heat wave. Well, at the Orchard Tearoom, we can't promise it will be cool - it really isn't despite the desperate attempts of the air conditioning unit to justify its existence. We can't promise WiFi either, the signal is so weak it barely runs the till so it would be pointless to share the password. We've got coffee, though. Cakes, sandwiches. Company. You'll get a few steps in, walking from the car park. Maybe give us a go on a day you're not working, though? (I think the heat has got to me, have a happy Monday, Sue)
