🌟 Calling all young swimmers and runners! 🌟
The much-loved Bedford Junior Aquathlon returns on Sunday 11 October, bringing together schoolchildren from across Bedford Borough and beyond for a morning of fun, fitness and achievement.
Suitable for children in Years 3-11, the event combines swimming at Robinson Pools & Fitness with running in Bedford Park, with distances tailored to each age group.
Places are limited to 200 participants, so be sure to book early!

💷 £10 per participant

Are you passionate about creating opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to be more active? Do you want to make a real difference by helping remove barriers to participation in sport and physical activity?

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sports Development Officer to lead the delivery of an exciting externally funded project focused on improving the quality and access to exercise and physical activity for SEND children and young people across Bedford Borough.

What a fantastic weekend at the 2026 Bedford River Festival! 🎉

The Sports Island, located on Longholme Island across the Butterfly Bridge, welcomed thousands of visitors over the two-day event and showcased the incredible range of sports, activities and talent available across Bedford and the surrounding area.

From climbing, canoeing, kayaking, gymnastics and wheelchair racing bikes to rugby skills, martial arts, yoga and fitness sessions, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Our Sports Stage also featured a packed programme of performances and demonstrations, including cheerleading, Bollywood dancing, street dancing, line dancing, tap and ballet.

We have been delighted by the positive feedback received, with visitors praising the welcoming atmosphere, variety of activities and family-friendly environment. Many described the Sports Island as a safe, vibrant and well-organised space that encouraged people to get active and discover local clubs and opportunities.

A huge thank you to all the clubs, coaches, volunteers, performers and organisations who helped make the Sports Island such a success. Together, we showcased the very best of Bedford and inspired people of all ages to get involved in sport and physical activity. 👏💙

Massive thank you to the 20 organisations who participated in the 2026 Yoga and Wellbeing in the Park event today at Bedford Park and of course our sponsors Harpur trust and Delomac. With over 350 participants and over 780 attendees it has been the most inclusive event yet. So proud of this event. Thank you Bedford! 🎉🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️🌳
