Today is World Autism Awareness Day 💙

It’s a good time to remember that good money guidance should always be accessible.

For autistic people, money conversations can sometimes feel overwhelming, but small changes can make a big difference:

💬 Keep language clear and simple
🧩 Take things step by step
⏳ Allow extra time
📝 Offer written information
👀 Be aware of the environment

Accessibility helps everyone feel more confident and supported.

Shout out to the amazing organisations across Scotland making a difference for autistic people and their families, including Scottish Autism and National Autistic Society Scotland.

It’s the start of Stress Awareness Month 💙

Supporting others — especially with money worries or difficult situations — can be rewarding, but it can also be stressful. Taking a bit of time now to plan how you’ll look after your wellbeing can really help.

You might want to think about:

What’s coming up over the next few months?
Where things might feel busy or challenging
When you can take breaks or have time to reflect?
Who you can talk to if you need support?
What help or services you can signpost people to?

Take a moment to pause, think and plan ahead. Even small steps can make a big difference.

Let’s look after ourselves as well as the people we support 💙

💬 Money Matters Friday's money guidance tip:

Support people to plan for the next pressure point, not the perfect month.
Focusing on the next bill, event, or trigger is more achievable — and more protective — than long-term budgeting alone.
