🏡🗑️ Neighbourhood Litter Pick Competition - it's not too late to sign up!

Starting next weekend 📆24-25 October & weekend 📆 31 October-1 November.

Help keep Flitwick clean and be in with a chance of winning the title of Cleanest Street in Flitwick!

We're encouraging neighbours to come together and litter pick in their local area. Choose a street, park, or community space, then gather your friends, family, and neighbours to help make a difference.

Once you've registered, we'll provide all the information you need, including:

- Collection details
- Event information

🌞 Perfect weather this morning for our volunteer session at the Nature Park, Maulden Road, led by Guy Lambourne from Wasseldine.

🍂 Thank you to everyone who joined us, working together with the Public Realm Team to cut 50 trial plots of hazel to start us on our journey to coppice hazel!

The initial cutting of young hazel stems close to ground level to establish a healthy coppice stool. This encourages vigorous new shoots to grow from the base, creating a dense, multi-stemmed structure that can be managed through a future rotational coppicing cycle.

❤️ Great to see so many people join us this afternoon at The Rufus Centre Flitwick, for the Great Flitwick Cake & Cinema Club for older people.

If you missed it today, next month we're showing The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on the big screen on Thursday 19th November.
