When I attended last year's public meeting with EWR the council headed by Mohammad yassin showed very little if not weak opposition to the project, a couple of green party councillors aired their concerns but that was about it. EWR made it quite clear that the project was going ahead and had been put before every prime minister since Boris Johnson. I'm quite sure that any home owners who refuse to sell their property to EWR will be slapped with a Compulsory Purchase Order (I work in construction and I've seen CPOs used many times). Basically the large rail company is bullying the people because it can.
It tells East West Rail it "cannot support" homes or businesses being destroyed.
