AbbeyFields Community WiFi Establish Community Wifi coverage to the Abbeyfields Estate in Elstow, Bedford Some folks in this area are unable to get speeds higher to 300-500 kbps.

I am currently investigating the possibility of deploying a community wifi solution across the Abbeyfields estate, initially focusing on the areas of Sandleford Drive and Croydon Drive that currently are unable to access Superfast Broadband service from BT or Virgin media. My vision is using a Meshed Wifi network we can establish a network that can be used by all the residents, a small charge for

higher bandwidth and free for basic internet. High capacity internet connections would be added to the network by residents and community building in strategic locations. This would be a not for profit project with any charges being reinvested in the network and to pay for the ongoing infrastructure and services.
