NHS Careers Competition
All Key Stage 3 students were invited to participate in the NHS Careers Competition, which encouraged them to explore the wide range of career opportunities available within the NHS.
Students selected a career that interested them from the NHS's 350+ career pathways and carried out research into the role's key responsibilities, required skills, qualifications, and experience. During lunchtime sessions in the IT suite, students completed a job description activity to support their investigations and deepen their understanding of their chosen profession.
Using their research, students then designed a fun and informative job advertisement aimed at encouraging their peers to consider a career in the NHS. Entries could be submitted individually or in teams of up to four students.
A diverse range of careers was represented, including psychologist, pilot, radiologist, and surgeon. Entries were judged on both creativity and the depth of understanding demonstrated about the chosen role.
National competition winners received a Β£50 Amazon voucher, an NHS goody bag, and a framed certificate. At St Benet Biscop Catholic Academy, all students who entered the competition were awarded a certificate of participation in recognition of their enthusiasm, commitment, and excellent investigative skills while exploring the world of work.
Congratulations to all students who took part and embraced the opportunity to learn more about the rewarding careers available within the NHS.
