Throughout the year, corporate volunteers play a vital role in supporting Simon Community.

Their impact is felt in the everyday - from bringing outdoor spaces back to life, preparing a welcome pack for someone moving into our services, to helping ensure no one is left without at Christmas.

This work is only possible because of people who choose to show up and get involved. Thank you to each team who has shared their time and energy with us this year, you’re amazing!

Hear from some of the teams who’ve volunteered with us this year.

Nearly 100 colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group took to the streets of Belfast last week, walking 12 miles in support of people experiencing homelessness across Northern Ireland.

Each person carried a symbolic key throughout the walk, representing something so many of us can take for granted, a safe place to call home.

Right now, 62,888 people are experiencing homelessness in NI, including almost 19,000 children. Behind every number is a person, family or young person in need of support.

A huge thank you to everyone from Lloyds Banking Group who took part, raised awareness and showed the power of people coming together to create change.

Funds raised through the partnership will help support our tenancy deposit scheme and Creating Homes programme, helping people move away from homelessness and into permanent homes.

An incredible £23,775.91 was raised for people facing homelessness across Northern Ireland.

We’re still blown away by the support shown at this year’s Belfast City Marathon. Thanks to our incredible runners, relay teams, donors and supporters.

Right now, 62,888 people are officially homeless across Northern Ireland. Behind every number is a person, family or young person facing uncertainty.

A huge thank you to our relay teams from Galgorm Resort, PropertyPal, Specsavers, Conexia, Diamond Trucks, Fieldfisher, Frontline Insurance, Sudarshanam Hindu Samajam NI, Wolfspeed, Lloyds Banking Group, The Royal Society of Ulster Architects, Gleeds, PwC Ireland, and TPICAP, along with our incredible full marathon runners, Meabh, Andy, Paul, Gareth and Jack. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

You counted your miles and steps, and we counted on you!

Thank you to every runner, supporter and donor who helped make this year so special. See a face you know, tag them so they know they are famous!

“People experiencing homelessness are often carrying far more than the loss of a home.” - Cory, Wellbeing Practitioner Homelessness Service.

Behind a person experiencing homelessness can be trauma, grief, poor mental health, addiction, family breakdown or simply feeling like you have nowhere safe to turn.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, Cory explains that compassionate support and simply having someone listen can help people feel hopeful again.
