🚲 Stolen... Spotted... Recovered! 👮‍♂️

Recently a bicycle was reported stolen from City Quays 2 on Friday the 10th of July at 5:45pm, with two suspects believed to be involved.

Later that evening, at approximately 10:30pm, while on night shift, our Control Room Officer spotted two males in the Donegall Quay area matching the descriptions provided.

Belfast Harbour Police Officers quickly responded, stopping both suspects, and successfully recovered the stolen bicycle.

Both suspects were arrested and will now await their day in court.

The best part? 🚲❤️ The bicycle has now been reunited with its rightful owner. Another great example of vigilance, teamwork, and a swift response helping to keep Belfast Harbour safe.

👏 Well done to everyone involved.

Yesterday Police Service of Northern Ireland joined Belfast Harbour Police for a highly visible, operation throughout . These joint deployments keep us one step ahead - deterring crime so that everyone can enjoy the sunshine at the Maritime Mile and Belfast Harbour ☀️

We’re not saying our K9 partner completely outshone the rest of the team... but the photos speak for themselves! 👇

Of course, our favourite four-legged officer took his job very seriously:

🥾Perfecting his tactical stride alongside the team

🚥 Keeping a watchful eye on the bustling streets and crossings

🐾 And of course perfecting his pawfert photo angles… 📸

We work with partners in PSNI and our community to help keep Belfast Harbour a safe place to work, live and visit. Together we’ve got it covered.

Heading down to the Titanic Quarter or grabbing a coffee by City Quays this week? 🚶‍♂️☕It’s ! While the Belfast Harbour Police team is out keeping the quayside safe and secure, here are 5 quick tips to know before you head down to enjoy those scenic waterfront views:

📞 Need us? Save our number! For non-emergencies or to report anything unusual, call Belfast Harbour Police directly at 028 9055 3000 or PSNI on 101. For any immediate emergency on land or water, always dial 999.

🛟 Water safety is non-negotiable: No matter how tempting the water looks, never go in for a swim or a pier jump. Belfast Lough has freezing temperatures and hidden currents. If you're on a boat, keep your lifejacket securely fastened. If required in the event of an emergency there are dozens of life rings located throughout the estate!

🚦 Strict 30 mph road limit: Drivers, watch your speed—there is a strict 30 miles per hour limit on all harbour roads. Our Roads Policing Unit actively enforces this so pedestrians and heavy cargo vehicles can safely share the streets.

🏗️ Respect the working port: Belfast Harbour is a stunning place to visit with over 5 million visitors annually, but parts of it are a heavy industrial zone. Stay well clear of restricted operational areas where massive cranes and container machinery are moving.

❤️ Lifesaving tech is nearby: Publicly-accessible defibrillators (AEDs) are mapped across the estate, from the Clarendon Docks to the Maritime Mile. They are all registered on The Circuit network, so a 999 operator can instantly guide you to the closest one in a medical emergency.

Enjoy the views, stay safe on the quays, and if you spot our officers on patrol, give us a wave! 👋
