In August, we held our annual Summer Fun Day event, and what a fun day it was! ☀️

Getting our local community together always feel special, and with face-painting, colouring competitions, and 4-legged (or 0-legged) friends, there was something for everyone 🖍️

Presenting an award to members of our Tenant Voice Group was a particular highlight. Their dedication and hard work makes a huge impact, particularly in supporting our community events, and we couldn't do it without them.

Thank you also to our community partners for joining us and making the day so fun.

💜 Grove Community Housing Association are pleased to support Housing Executive as they launch Domestic Abuse Awareness Week with a Candlelight Vigil at Belfast City Hall Lawns. All are welcome.

🍰 What better way to start your morning than with tea, coffee, and cake? And all while raising money for an incredible charity.

☕ We were proud to host a Macmillan Coffee Morning in September to raise funds for the amazing work they do, as well as promote the services Macmillan offers. We were delighted to also be joined by Brian Kingston MLA, and Kathy from Vine Centre gave an informative talk about money management and the support available from the organisation. It also gave us a chance to raise awareness of the services provided by our very own "Lottie's Lounge" at the Grove office.

❤️ Together, we raised an incredible £242.18 for Macmillan. Thank you to our tenants, staff and Board members who volunteered their time to bake and donate to this cause. Thank you also to The BlueBells for their donation of delicious scones!

⚠️ THINK BEFORE YOU BUY AN E-SCOOTER THIS CHRISTMAS ⚠️

An e-scooter may look like an exciting Christmas present—but in Northern Ireland, it could quickly become a very expensive mistake.

Privately owned e-scooters cannot legally be ridden on public roads, footpaths, cycle lanes, parks or other public spaces. They may only be used on private land with the landowner’s permission.

If an e-scooter is used illegally, police can take firm action. The scooter may be seized and ultimately destroyed, while the rider could also face prosecution and other serious consequences.

Parents and guardians should remember that once a young person leaves private property, there may be virtually nowhere nearby where the scooter can legally be ridden. A gift bought for Christmas could therefore be seized only days later.

Before spending hundreds of pounds, ask one important question:

Where can it actually be used legally?

If the answer is anywhere other than private land with the owner’s permission, please choose a safer and more suitable present.

Don’t let an e-scooter go from Christmas present to police property. Think before you buy.
