ITS HAPPENED AGAIN Behind this white plastic curtain is a 40ft refrigerated trailer filled with tens of thousands of pounds worth of fresh seafood from Scotland destined for all the fantastic restaurants and hotels ,takeaways and care homes that Ewing Seafood supplies around Northern Ireland daily. It’s also one of the biggest days of the year because of the Easter holidays. The 40ft truck also had seafood for other companies in Belfast and beyond who are now also suffering the loss!! Here’s what happened “Because there is a big massive border right between the uk and the uk lots of paperwork is involved so we can supply ourselves! Unfortunately one supplier from the uk got a batch number wrong, not my supplier and probably just human error ! Only 7 boxes involved I’m told. Now correct me if I’m wrong but would it not make more sense to reject the 7 boxes that were labelled wrong and let the rest of load into the uk? Think off the loss off buisness Ewing’s suffered today disappointed customers not getting what they needed, not to mention the financial loss from all the decent hard working suppliers who did nothing wrong got the paperwork correct. This fish now has no value because the shelf life is now going to expire over the weekend as the trailer is to be returned to Scotland. Absolute madness 🤬
